how many times have i said 'shush', 'okay', 'quiet', 'I'm waiting' today?
Apparently with two of my classes, the only way to get full-class attention and silence is to:
a) keep them after class and talk to them about why I need them to be quiet when I am talking (seriously, I haven't heard them be properly silent for more than a few seconds before then);
or,
b) dissect a heart in front of them and tell them about the time I held a human brain.
My main plans are to blind them with stoats and firm discipline. (But not acid, no matter how tempted I may be.) And be a young female teacher when they normally have older men. It's got to make a difference.
I also fell asleep on the bus home a few rows in front of one of my students. *facepalm* Yeah, I'm really putting forward the professional face.
(Also, also, woke up at 5.15am this morning exactly one hour before the alarm, having dreamt my alarm went off. Cue freaking out that the clocks had gone back without my noticing...even though if that had been the case, the alarm and living room clock would, y'know, match. Also cue waking up girlfriend with freakout. This newfangled light-in-the-morning is REALLY screwing up my sleeping patterns.)
Also x 3: this game is so freakin' weird. He just bounces...and wobbles...and rolls...so hypnotically...

This is just one of the five million reason why I could never be a teacher. Professor. Anything remotely in that vein. I completely lack the patience--as well as the tolerance for children. :P
I do the alarm thing, too. All the damn time. It's freaking annoying, isn't it?

Ha, sometimes I don't have much patience for them either. But then I figure that wherever I go there will be people who try my patience, and I might as well be in a profession where I can give them the benefit of the doubt (of being teenagers!). I'm pretty good at not taking their wacky behaviour too seriously - they don't have anything against me, they're just still growing their adult brains!
Recently I've started getting into the habit of waking up again and again, worried the alarm hasn't gone off at all, and making my partner check for me. Really freaking annoying!

Heh, true. Six of one, half-dozen of the other, or some such thing.
It really is! I'm hoping mine tapers off once I get back to a normal sleeping pattern. Hope your brain stops messing with you!

All of them are super-awesome. I think Gideon's my least favourite too, but I'm still more fond of him than I am fond of lots of characters in other shows.

Ha! I wish I could use that on mine! I have one class that never stops talking. They are the masters of off topic questions and tangents as well.
I LOVE that game. It's so relaxing.

That game is so mesmerising, such a jiggly cat!

I sympathize with the early rising thing. I've been waking up at 6 AM every morning, full of beans. Of course, that means I'm knackered come 9 PM, but it feels wrong to go to bed then!
